I did the Lake Geneva sprint last year and it was interesting as usual. The security was a little better and the races started close to on time, which were improvements over the previous year. However, the half mile swim was probably closer to a quarter mile and security started to slack off as the day went on. I did it in 2006 as well, and they added 3 miles to the bike at the last minute. Distances are more of an intention than a measurement in Lake Geneva.

I still enjoyed it. It is a beautiful setting, especially near the lake. The bike and run courses are challenging and last year it was smaller than usual, so getting good spots was easier. If my doctor hadn't grounded me this year, I would probably do it again.

Ditto on the RD.  I haven't done his LG race but I've done other that were very poorly run.  So much so that he got dropped from USAT - whatever that means exactly I don't know but sounds serious.

However, his LG race is the best one he does and is the largest so I have heard a good comment or two.  He seems to always get the swim distances wrong.  The course is extremely hilly!!

I raced the Olympic distance LG race a couple years ago.  It is a great venue.  I thoroughly enjoyed the race.  However, it did start very late.  Maybe 30-45 minutes late simply because race day packet pick-ups and other disorganization.  My wife has family within walking distance from the start of the race.  Even with the hassles, I would do it again if I find myself up in that area at the right time.  Just know that is won't be well ran or supported going in to it.

I did the sprint distance last year. Overall I enjoyed the race but the distances were off. The swim was more like a 1/4 mile instead of a 1/2 and I think the run was short too. One other complaint is that some of the roads were not closed during the bike segment. I did enjoy the race and the race setting though.

I did the olympic last year and enjoyed the entire experience. A bit hilly course but challenging.
If you decide to do it I am sure you will enjoy it! I will be doing it again this year !
