Woohoo! I will be there and I have only heard FABULOUS things about the race.  After seeing the top notch production that Jack and Adams put on for Jack's Generic, I'm expecting this one to be superb!!

It's a great race and a good course for a first Oly. I did it last year and had fun after my terrible swim performance. Too bad I'm in Norway that weekend on business or I'd join in again.

No contemplating about it, if it's below 78, I'll be wearing mine...  I have low tolerance for any kind of cold (which is why I live in TX), I swim faster, and I tend to not kick as much. A little late for this advice, but do practice in the wetsuit at least a couple times before the race.

Wetsuits should be legal since the damn-fed town lake is always pretty chilly. I'll be racing without one. Just haven't bitten the bullet yet on that. Not worried about the cold, but a little extra buoyancy would sure be nice...especially since my shoulder has been acting up the last couple of weeks. See you all there!

I'll be wearing what is in my avatar too...and I have an all white Javelin, with nerdy white matching shoes and helmet...

I decided I am FOR SURE doing the wetsuit as long as it is legal. I got a few swims in at Barton Springs over the past few weeks and feel confident.

Now taking it off...I'm still a little slow

Good luck to all!

(Anyone running the Nike human race on Sunday and then doing the Tri on Monday?! Am I a glutton for punishment?! I'll be pacing 9:30/mile for Nike....

^^^Yep, glutton for punishment!! Have fun though, that's awesome.  I'm not doing the Human Race, but can't say I'm really tapering for this either.  Longhorn is the A race, but hope to do fairly well for this.  You can't miss me, short, bright red hair, loud Team Zoot GU tri-suit!  See y'all there--and yes, I'll use my wetsuit if I it is legal, the extra buoyancy will help!

I'm so there!! I'll be in the oly as well - I did this race last year and LOVED it!  I'll be in a black and lime green tri suit (showing more lumps and bumps than I'd like) but I'll be putting a red running shirt over it for the last leg. Holler if you see me! Go BT!!

Bikes turned in and ready to go. Good luck to everybody tomorrow, I know I'm inspired and ready after watching some IMKY today! I'll be wearing a pink and gray top and riding a blue Fuji "kids" bike (ie tiny bike).

did everyone have a good race?

Was it just me or was that T1 a LONNNG one?

The swim was actually really nice and the best OWS I have done yet.

The bike course was nice too...the run course...didn't really care for it but it was interesting

Hope all did well
-Jessica

That is about the longest T1 I've seen, by the time you run from the lake into the bike area, then run out and go down that sidewalk to get to the street... At least everyone else has to do it as well

Swim went well, other than getting my first punch in the nose (only surprising thing is that it never happened before I guess). I like the bike course, but it did get awfully crowded by my 3rd loop, especially coming back down Congress after the turnaround (saw one guy that had taken a nasty spill there). Good thing about the run course is that the twists and turns keep giving you a new target destination to shoot for.

Plenty of pizza, fruit, water, soda, etc. after the race; and I thought the U2 tribute band was pretty good. Oh, and the tech t-shirt and nice visor were cool and useful goody-bag items. Jack and Adam definitely know how to put on a great race!

Overall I had a good race, and finally had a semi-decent swim. Maybe those swim intervals are starting to pay off...

I enjoyed this race...except for the run.  Man, was it HOT!  I cracked on mile 4 - just got way overheated.  I probably went out too fast for the conditions. Oh well, live and learn!  I also have a small scrape right in the middle of my forehead and I have no idea how I got it, other than it happened sometime before the run.  Probably got nicked in the swim, or even nicked myself taking off my swim cap. Who knows?

Hope to see you all at another race soon! Who's doing the Longhorn? I'm not...but I'm just curious.  I may come out and cheer anyway!

I had a phenomenal time out there!! I was nervous about bike check in, but other than a dusty bike--no issues.  Well organized, cops everywhere on the bike route, though it did get a little crowded once the sprinters made it out on the course, but such are triathlons.  I loved the swim, I loved the bike--three loops let me know exactly where to push it and where to spin it--and I didn't mind the run course at all. It was meandering enough to keep me interested, the volunteer support was great, and I loved the water hose at J&A's, the sponges, and the kids with the water guns--all those things actually kept me cool enough on the course.  The Jack and Adam's races and Endorfun races seem to be the best around--definitely worth doing their races for everything you get: schwag, great race/volunteers, and great post-race.  Granted, I had a really good race, my first "official" Oly (did a 1/4 Iron and an Oly that was slightly short in the swim and bike) and it could not have been better!  We must really start having some sort of BT post race meet up or something for these things. I'll be back down for Longhorn (actually am practicing the bike course this weekend)--in fact, for those of you not racing Longhorn, there is going to be a big BT party (there are over 100 BT'ers signed up to race) with BBQ pit and all--so volunteer and come on out and join the party!
