Do you think there be any problems due to the football game?  The game starts at 2:30.  Something besides bib numbers to think about.

I was thinking the same thing. From looking at google maps and directions, parking listed on the UL'S website I do not think it would be an issue. I mean I don't live there but how far is the field from the run course.

Field is pretty close to the run.  If nothing else, I'm sure there will be some people irritated at us for messing up the flow of traffic from the west trying to get to the game.  Why they chose this weekend for the IM is beyond me.  Seems to me this coming weekend might have been a better choice....but they did not consult me on the matter.

I do like the fact that this is a holiday weekend though.

The Ironman was scheduled first. One of the schools AD changed the game from Monday to Sunday.

...additionally, I think that the game was changed to Sunday so it could be nationally televised on ESPN. (National television = $$$)

It's UK's AD's fault he had a Monday night slot on ESPN but was scared they would not have enough prep time for their next opponent NWES tech state. I agree it's a bad choice of weekends to have IM. You have the game, world fest on the river, the mayor's bike and hike on Monday, plus the holiday, too much stuff going on that weekend to recruit local volunteers. It should have been the weekend before or after.

That sounds cool.  What is World fest on the River?  We plan on touring the Louisville Slugger plant and Churchill Down museum and tour.  Got any other tourist suggestions?

Worldfest is an ethnic fair it will be on the belvedere part of waterfront park right next to the Galt House. The Ali center is new you can check out, also if you have little ones their is the Lou. Science Center, on Main across from the Slugger plant, Fraiser History museum if you are into guns also on Main.

I was in Louisville a few months ago and went to the Muhammad Ali museum or whatever it is called. I really liked it, in addition to lot's of Ali info and stuff, there was a lot of info and pictures of the Civil Rights movement. There was also a Leroy Neiman section that had a ton of his sketches of Ali and a bunch of info on how they worked together that was really cool.

I would make some crack about how much prep time is needed for the Powerful NWES Tech State, but I am sure Michigan fans will never take Appalachian State lightly again either!

Well good news is that we will have a police escort securing our right to be there, but I guarantee there will be alot of foot traffic try to cross the street.  Cant wait until the game lets out and you have a bunch of drunk people, probably UL fans pissed off because they are going to lose!  Hopefully I will be finished by then :D
