How is Vegas in October? Is it still hot? Is it crowded?

Any recommended places to stay? What are the shows to see? Any cool day trips out of Vegas?

Thanks!

October is a great time to be here for weather.  Not hot, but warm enough to still hang by the pool during the day.  It's always crowded, but it's eases a little at that time.

Red Rocks park and Lake Mead and the dam or good day trips.

Vegas is one of the options on the table for Sweetie and I when I get home from my 15 month deployment.  Good to hear it will be warm enough in October to relax by the pool.

Just get a spot in the sun...

My wife and I got married on Oct 7th because we knew it would be cool enough for an outdoor wedding, but you can still lay out mid day...

It DOES get a little windy at that time of year though...

There are always anomolies, but that's the usual.

I've been there many times over Thanksgiving. It is a little cool then, but not freezing. Just bring a light jacket and pants, and you will be okay. I've never been in October though. It may still be warm then.

There are so many neat hotels there. My favorite hotel to stay at was Bally's, which was on the Strip. It is SO cool. I got a room where you could see a view of a neat fountain show every hour on the hour

I liked to see the magic show with the two guys and the tiger (this was before they got their hands chewed off). I don't know what is playing now though. I haven't been in a few years.

surfwallace - 2008-08-20 2:07 PM Vegas is the same whenever you go: no sleep, lots of drinks, lots of smoke, and lots of whores!

x2 on Red Rocks. Some good climbing out there, and probably good hiking as well.
