I wonder if it is a world trend or something only here in Europe but since few months I have been seeing people in triathlon races with light blue paint on the back of their legs with some sort of design (heart, letters, etc.). What is that? Have you seen it?

I haven't seen it in racing but the tape you are seeing in the Olympics is called Kinesio Tape. My former roomie is a masseuse and took some classes on Kinesio tape to get certified. She loves it and uses it on a lot of her athletes. I have my doubts but seeing it on pro athletes gives it a bit more credence in my opinion. Google it for more information...oh and it comes in a variety of colors, not just blue ;-)

If you can stand the "bubba gump" routine, look at this:

My PT used it a few times during my knee rehab...it didn't do anything for me, but it looked good.

It's not a trend unless people make it so.  I had a full on Grade 3 shoulder separation in February this year and my PT used it to help support my shoulder while I rehabbed and started running and swimming again.  It is not like "scotch tape," it is very VERY strong an stable when put on the skin.  Basically took the place of three ligaments that I lost.

It's been around a long time, only now due to the olympics is it getting attention

I kind of remember Lance talking about some magic tape or something that the team used. From one of his books. Anyone remember that?
