IMAZ and Springhill Suites......

Just as an FYI, someone in my tri club sent this out.

If you're staying at the SpringHill Suites, West Rio Salado Pkwy, Tempe for IMAZ, you might want to know that the hotel will be under an expansion renovation from August 18, 2008 through January 31, 2009. I called the hotel and was told that the areas affected by the renovation are the lobby (although breakfast will still be served daily), pool area and a "grassy area" adjacent to the building towards Linden St. where the expansion is taking place (so avoid staying on that side of the building if you can), parking "shouldn't" be affected. The construction work takes place Monday thru Sunday from 9a. to 6p. I stayed at this hotel last year and thought it was a great place, close to the race start, quiet rooms, so I was looking forward to going back this year but will probably stay elsewhere just to avoid the hassles.
