Subject: stowe bike routes
Hi - I'll be visiting the Stowe area in early Oct. (with probably thousands of other tourists) and my husband and I are looking for some 20 - 30 mile bike routes in the area. Any suggestions? We'll be bringing our own road bikes up and prefer to go out on our own instead of in a big group.
Thanks

My brother lives in Stowe, and you'll have endless possibilities, and all will be beautiful. There are a few bike shops in town that will have routes available. Rt 100 is beautiful up and down, but all the other tourists will be there too, even then, it probably wouldn't be unsafe.

I haven't actually ridden in that area since I was a teenager, but I'm sure if you got a good map, you'll find tons of ideas. There are a bunch of little mini towns around Stowe that are fun to explore. It might involve a mix of dirt roads and pavement.
