Subject: Brick Question
After reading several posts, I realized that I've been pushing too hard on my long bike ride.  Usually after this ride, I run a mile or two.  This week I did my longest ride but at a slower pace and found that the run was much easier and I didn't have that dead feeling in my quads.  it this typical?

I usually do my rides anywhere from 40-55 miles at 76% to 83% of Max HR and then follow it up with the same type of hard 3-5 mile run.  It's not easy, but eventually you get to where you can hold the pace longer and gradually increase your speed.

Last year I did everything at a slow pace, but more miles (long rides were 80 miles, followed by 10 mile runs).

I find I'm a lot fitter this year and am able to hold a faster pace for a longer period of time.

Not sure if this helps, but I've had a great year this far and have set some major PR's in almost every race I have done.
