12 weeks to go, how's the training going? Seems like time is freaking flying.

I think mine is going pretty good, but I will let you know around 7:00pm on 11/23.

I just did a 100 mile ride this weekend in Hotter than Hell 100 over in Texas. Good training ride for sure. So far I have multiple 65 milers, an 80, 90 and 100 mile ride.

Running I've done two 14.5 milers thus far with a 16 miler planned for this weekend.

Swimming - bascially just doing three days a week at 2500 yards. Will ramp up a little in late September/early October.

Whats everyone else doing?

Criminy... is it only 12?

Just finished my second build.  I am trying to do more consistent bike volume but less long punisher bike rides this time around.  I've got a few 100s during the year, longest ride during actual "training" is about 95.  Also adding some hills for power, but also becuase I have a hilly HIM in October.  I do have 2 centuries in October.

Just had my second "tuneup" race - planned an Oly, a 1/34/10 almost half, and a HIM in prep, and both the Oly and the 1/34/10 have gone really well, in particular my run has improved substantially over last year.  Longest run will be in the 18 range.  Two are planned, we'll see.

three more builds then a 2.5 week taper

Aside from a lack of water work...I suppose I'm doing ok.  Following an actual plan is not happening (nor will it with life scheduled the way it is), but I'm putting in the time that I can.  I still have a HIM coming up in Oct (my 2nd this year)..so when that's done with, I suppose it will start sinking in that my next race will be my first IM.  As Aaron said, I'm having fun.

going ok, just started college and need to get a gym membership to start swimming again. Hoping to do a century on October 3rd ( Poway) and another 2-3 weeks after that. The bike is gonna be my biggest problem. I have tons of hills to practice on ( Cabrillo monument) and am eager to start riding more. Right now, I KNOW I can do the swim and run, lets build up the bike!!! 12 weeks, wahoooo!!

My overall volume is a little slack, but so far I have completed a couple 4.5 Hour Bikes, and 3 runs over 4.5 Hours- up, or up and down Pikes Peak.
Took last week almost off after that race, but am back at it and will do the Enchanted Circle Century a week from Saturday. I'm looking forward to the next 8 weeks and I've taken the other "events" off the schedule to focus on consistency of training without need to taper/recover from racing.
Tally Ho!

Hi Peeps!

Training is going well. Last month was bike base-building month. This month I've been working on the run—it’s getting there.

I have 2 HIMs and a 1/2 Mary on the sched for next moth--those should tell me quite a bit.

The nutrition plan has been working thus far: I'm down 25 lbs from when I did IMLP last year. Hopefully I'll get 10 more off before we "toe the line."

Keep up the good work!

Rob

Getting nervous, but I'm on track with my training. September will be the true test of it all, with 3 build weeks, including multiple 100 mile rides.

Well let the first slacker chime in. Training this whole year has been crap.

Summer up here is almost over and I have not ridden over 55 miles but once, have yet to swim open water this year, hell haven't even done a tri as Steelhead turned into a duathlon.

Well, the pregnant wife just went back to work (teacher) so the little man is off to day care again during the day so I will have a little more structure in our lifes. No more noon phone calls to go meet for lunch or go to the zoo (not saying its not fun but really cramps IM training)

I think I picked up the 10 pounds Jeepfleeb lost, so if you want it back Aaron PM me Wink

So to sum it up, I have a little less than 12 weeks to get my sh@# in order, book a flight and  a hotel room and get to the starting line in what shape I can muster up.

Mine is going well, not great.  The key for everyone is there is time to make improvements to still have a kick day.

I'm jealous of all you that still get to race this fall in prep for IMAZ.  The summer is over which means no more triathlons around here.  Good thing is I won't need the recovery time.

Had a great August after a crappy June & July.  Just started my 13 week plan last week and am having to modify training schedule because of dwindling daylight hours.  The biggest issue I have is gettting nutrition figured out.  Looking forward to the day though.  I can't believe it is only 12 weeks away.
