So I've been out for a few rides on the Tri bike and feel pretty comfortable on it, but was curious to know if anyone has any thoughts. Photo credits to my wife, who continues to be OK with my freakish bike addiction.

I'm a complete novice, but I'm going to say this with authority.

Looks fine to me.

Seat looks high... you're pointing your toes in the first pic, which may indicate you're stretching at the bottom of the stroke.

Also, put away that container that's sitting on the couch.

Seems your wife has found these boards too!

Nice bike, but I have no clue about fit.

Haha... yeah, the basement, like the fit, is a work in progress. We just moved in a couple months ago and the basement has been the last to get settled.

I'm a complete amateur, so take this with many grains of salt.  I've been reading a lot about fit, and it looks like possibly you are slightly stretched out.

My real comment, however, is that what constitutes 'perfect fit' for you right now might not be what does in a year or two.  Everything I've read -- and my limited experience confirms it -- suggests that you should start with a less aggressive fit and progress to a more aggressive fit as you get used to it.  After lots of testing, pictures, measuring, etc., I got my bike into what seemed, from everything I read (mostly about the FIST system), a 'picture perfect' fit, and it was just too aggressive -- I couldn't stay in aero for more than about 5 miles.  So I dialed it back a few notches, and I'm now in the (what looks to be long, slow) process of working back.

Other than that you're wearing a Specialized jersey with a Cervelo bike, it all looks pretty good to me.

There's not a picture of your leg at the 6 o'clock position (unless you count the right leg in picture 3), so it's a little hard to tell if your seat's the right height or not. Maaaybe it's a little high, since your toes are starting to point in picture 1, and your crank is only at about 7 o'clock ,from the looks of it, but again, it's a little hard to tell. Elbows, back, hips looks fine.

What book is your front wheel resting on? Kinda hard to read it when you are training if your wheel is resting on it!

Other than that looks good to me. I echo what the previous poster said about leg postition not showing a clear 6 oclock position.

I don't really think your seat is too high.

But I do wonder about the front end and your interaction with it. Looks like you could rotate your hips forward some to alleviate the rounding of your back, which would also bring your shoulders over your elbows some. But in order to do that you might need to skootch up on the saddle some. That might be something you do out on the road already anyway.

As mentioned, none of the pics have a good shot of your left leg at 6 o'clock, so it's hard to tell if the seat is too high or not. Your foot is pointed down, but you've also got a lot of bend in your knee. Also can't make much of a judgment on your hip angle for the same reason.;

Front end looks a little long, but I'm wondering if this how you would really ride this setup. You're way back on the saddle and most people don't ride quite that far back. Were this pics taken after riding at a decent tempo for a bit?

In general, it looks pretty good to me. Take some more pics with better leg position and with a conscious effort of flattening your back.

I think your front end is a little low maybe flip your stem to get a little higher.
On a long ride I think your neck will be killing you trying to look up like that.
Definitely lower the seat a little, from what I have read your heel will drop
as you get tired and if the seat is too high you will be extending your knee
too much.
Hey, but what do I know! Have fun with the Cervelo I have a P2C and love it.

I think a lot of the problem is that rolling forward and sitting on the nose is still pretty painful on the nether regions. I got the bike with a Selle Italia SLR T1, and I think I might need a little more padding for my big clydesdale body. Or maybe I still need to get used to the position a little. I ordered up a Profile Tri Stryke, which comes highly touted for big dudes. We'll see if that changes anything.
