Subject: Weight loss----> First Triathlon

HI my name is Scott and back in February I was way overweight, I was about 320 pounds.  I was sick of being overweight and wanted to make a change.  I started going to the gym and started running and making large changes in my diet.  At first I didn't loss much but then the fat started flying off me.  Now 7 months later I weight 200 pounds and feel like a million bucks.  I got better and better at running and liked it so much I decided to run a triathlon.  My first triathlon is this weekend (Lake Geneva Triathlon) and is very fitting because I just hit my target weight.  I look forward to running and learning more from this forum and website.

Thanks,

 Scott

Best of luck at your tri -- have FUN above all.

Want to share a few pointers with us? You definitely have an inspiring story!

I have lost 60 lbs. but then regained about 15, so I'm back at it.

Way to go and good luck this weekend! I lost a bunch of weight and triathlon helps me keep it off. I use my BT training log to count calories and my heart rate monitor to estimate how many I burn in workouts, along with a basal calorie level, and balance them out. If I don't do that, I start putting the weight back on.

You gonna start using the blog feature on this site?  I find it helps keep me motivated.  Nice to be able to look back over the year and see how far I've come...especially at those low moments when I feel like I'm not getting anywhere.

Good luck!
