Subject: New to Ultra Distance, from Augusta, GA
Hi! I'm a vet triathlete that is getting back into the sport after a 4 year layoff. I done dozens of races, but none any longer than Oly distance. I'm racing at Gulf Coast half-iron in May, and my plan is to race at Great Floridian in October. I'm currently coaching three newbie triathletes for Team in Training who will be competing at St. Anthony's in April. I'm a strong swimmer (college All-American) and cyclist (i won a Norba NCS hillclimb race at Big Bear in '97), but a weak runner (plenty of endurance...4 marathons under my belt) but sloooow.

Thanks! I love TNT. I first got involved back in '94 (Gayle Barron was my coach...how cool is that?). I came back to TNT last year after my grandfather was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and this year I'm coaching runners and triathletes. I know TNT gets a bad rap from the triathlon community because of athletes not following the rules, but I'm trying to avoid that with my athletes. We talk about the rules constantly.
