I'm new to this site. About me-well I grew up swimming in the fountains of Philly but you know how fountain swimming is, mainly roughing up your peeps until the 5 O's come and send us home. I have a few bikes, and I ran track in high school. I put up a 10.12s 100 meter and a 48.2 400 meter and I went to states for both events. When I saw the papers up for the Philly triathlon coming this June I signed up. Not a lot of brothers are into this triathlon gig yet. I figure that I will be the Tiger Woods of triathloning. Let me tell you one thing about the philly triathlon, yo, the schewkill river is whacked. It was nice out today so I went to swim that course but the water was so f-ing cold I couldn't do it. Peace.

Welcome!  The philly tri sounds cool, though I remember reading on a post a while back about someone saying they were fearful of swimming in the river and finding a body or something....I'm sure it won't be all that bad, but funny comment nonetheless!

Best of luck in doing the tri....and those are some awesome times you put up for the 100 and 400!

Wow Jerome, that's intense.  Be careful!

The Germantown Y pool is warm.  I just started up there last week.  Lot's of lap time during the day.

its me, jerome. I forgot to write down my passcode when I signed up so I had to make a new name and all that. now I wote it down so its all good. I know what your saying about the river and being careful. I will be getting one of those wetskins. They sell them down in chinatown at the bikeshop. I picked up a Trek because I like that Lance Armstrong cat - that bike is quick. I raced these chums around the block and smoked em. Today I am going to ride down to kelly drive. Peace.

yo, 'sup. am also in philly.

and re: not a lot of brothers - hah! i have a friend jerome who's been racing for a little while. the good thing is that he's always easy to spot. because, let me tell you, when you watch one of these things, especially a bigger one, spotting the person you're looking for is like finding a needle in a haystack. except jerome, who even made it to hawaii last year.
