Subject: !! Dutch guy !!
Hi all.

First of all, sorry if my grammar is not correct.... but hey, I'm a Dutch guy.

Yes, I have been lurking for a while and so it's time to introduce myself:
» I'm 29 years old
» I like all kind of sports
» I live in The Netherlands, Almere (half an hour from Amsterdam)

• My first goal is to participate my first tri this year
• My second goal is to participate (and finish of course) the long distance Holland triathlon in Almere in sept 2005
• After that, I want to have a look at Adventure Racing, which is becoming a hot item in the Netherlands.

October 2003 I decided to train for a triathlon with a friend of mine. Did some weekly swimming (working real hard on my technique) and some running. Then in January 2004 I discovered beginnertriathlete and now I'm am addicted to it. Great articles and lots of motivated people!

From the 9th of febuary I started with the 20 weeks olympic training program. Which in my opinion really works.
So hopefully I can keep up training like you "guys" and enjoy my first tri soon.

Yeps, that's my little parrot called Youki. My little mascot.

I had two birds a year ago. The other was very, very tame and named Mushu. But unfortunatly he was very ill too and is not in this world anymore

I have written one name on my left and one on my right runningshoe. It will bring me luck

Wow, what kind of school was that? I wish my school had such animals... snakes... (my father had a large python in his house when he was still living in Indonesia, for the rats)
I love animals too! I realy like to go to the zoo on sunny days, and I want to to visit the wildlife in (South) Africa once (or more). It must be wonderfull to see those animals in their natural habitat.

By the way, my bird is realy a he, as he is practising his menly thing very hard on all soft teddy bears and stuff this time of year
    haha

And Bert, good to meet another dutch speaking guy. I must be doing something wrong as you are on Hawaii and I am still living in in the cold, foggy land. Are you on Hawaii especially for the ironman?

Hi Loran, no I am not specially in Hawaii for the Ironman. Came here for work. As I live next to the Oahu Club, a 50 meter pool and a gym, I got involved in swimming and running. Add biking and you are a tri! Bought a Felt F80 and started training in November. Doing a sprint in two weeks and Olympic distance April 18 (Honolulu-triathlon). I must say, circumstances are optimal here regarding climate and possibilities. I hear a lot from the Netherlands. It's cold! Groeten and/en train hard. Bert
