Subject: Best Tri for 1st Timer near Jacksonville

I plan to begin doing some triathlons in 09 in the Jacksonville area.  Which sprint triathlon would be best suited for a beginner?  I don't mind finishing in the back of the pack, but I would prefer some company.  I just started training a couple weeks ago after not working out for about 5 years.  I do plan on doing First Coast Xterra, but would prefer another before that.

 Thanks,

Mike

Hey Mike

The BFAST sprint series is very beginner friendly:

Also, check out our tri club:

A BFAST sprint at Mickler's Landing was my very first triathlon a few years back and I've done a few more since then. I have also done a few of the DRC sprints up at Little Talbot Island. I don't nkow why, but I sort of like the ones at Little Talbot Island better. Either would be a good choice for your first sprint.
