Subject: replacing Suunto HRM batteries

so my HRM strap or watch (prolly both) need a battery replacement. i saw online that Suunto suggested sending the watch/strap in for battery replacement, or taking the HRM to a "authorized dealer" and having them swap the battery, as well as new o-rings and battery cover.

Anyone ever either sent their Suunto in, or replaced it on their own?  i don't think any dealers are where i am at right now.

There is no need to take it in. I've replaced mine three times now. And don't buy the kit from them. You can buy duracells at a fraction of the cost. I saw no damage or wear and tear at all in my O ring.

The first time I needed to replace the battery it was a PITA. I couldn't get it seated right for over five minuntes. I finally got it. So the next  time I took it to an authorized dealer. They had the same problem but could not get it working again. They replaced mine with a brand new watch (T6, how sweet is that?).

I've since changed it again and I did not have any problems.

Good luck!
