Hello fellow BT'ers.  I live in the Canton/Woodstock area (Bridgemill) and am looking for some suggestions for a masters swim program to hook up with.  Any suggestions?  Everything I'm finding online seems to be over on the East side of town.

The Woodstock Aquatic Center has a masters program I believe. Unfortunately, it kicks off at the butt crack of stupid (like 5 AM). A lot of peeps go down to Marist for the Masters program there, and there are few more in Alpharetta/Roswell.

Well, I just checked and maybe I spoke too soon :-) It might just be group swim for older peeps :-) You should call them and check.

Roswell is a good hike for me, it's just not convenient.  I'm trying to find something a little closer to home or work.  I work down in Kennesaw.

Life Time Fitness in Woodstock offers Masters Swimming... it's not too far from 575 and 92 if that works for you.

Tues/Thurs. 5:30-6:30 a.m.
OR
Tues/Thurs. 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Not sure of current pricing... I think it's $34.00ish/month for members.  Non-members are welcome to participate and generally pay an additional 10-20% for activities there.

ETA: You are welcome to try it out/talk with the coach prior to actually registering to see if the location/times will be OK for you.

Mtn View Acquatic Center (Sandy Plains Rd at Chattahoochee Technical College) has a masters group.  It's $50 per month or you can get a 10 visit pass for $50. That may be too far south for you, though.

I think that it is more for us "non Cobb" residents

A second for the LTF Woodstock Masters, the coach is great at teaching stroke work and we are going to have a second lane for those of us who are doing more yardage (or meter-age as the case may be).

Yes, non-members are welcome.  I am not sure of the non-member cost but imagine it's somewhere around $40. assuming the member fee is still $34.00.

Here's the number for LTF at Mountain Brook if you want further information:

770-664-9696

You want to speak to someone in the member activities department.

I think Stingrays Swimming used to do masters at Brookstone in Acworth...not sure if they still are.  There isn't info on the website, so you might want to call.  Besides that, the only masters on the west side is at Westminster off West Paces Ferry.  Awesome group, but might be too far to drive for you.
