Subject: Turkey Trot???
BT'ers...help me decide...I am pondering doing the Turkey Trot in a month...I have NEVER run farther than 5 miles and haven't run much at all lately...Do I have time to go from a 4 mile girl to a 6.2 mile girl by then?

I have running a 10K as a goal for next year...that would be cool to do early...BUT...I had a periformus syndrome issue that I finished pt for in September...SOOO...what to do!

Sign up, do it, have fun, wear a costume (but not a stuffed turkey on your head.  ask Nelg).  This is a run, not a race, so you should be fine.  And if you're not, move down to the stuffing sprint (5k)!

I will be there grining ear to ear

Suck it up princess and drive down there with me.  I need the company in the car.  Of course you can do it.  But if you are a true wuss, you can just come down and be my bra but then you'll just be sorry that you are such a wimp and wish you would've done it. No pressure though.

Hey, if this slow fat turkey can do it so can that thin lean gazelle that lives next door to me.  If she is going to be a greyhound she needs to step it up.

You could always sign up for the 10K and turkey out and do the 5K?

It's a great race!!!!  FESTIVE.  FUN.  TONS of fan support (people line the course waiting for the parade).

DO IT!!   Plus the shirt you get this year is SWEEEEET!!

I'm doing it - as is my sister.

trixie - 2008-10-28 3:52 PM Where and when?

Thanksgiving morning!   10K starts at 8AM outside Cobo.

IMHO, this race has one of the best race shirts I've seen!!  Plus it's wicker material!

http://www.theparade.org/turkeytrot/registration.php

If you want to be guarateed a shirt though you need to sign up by the 1st!

Are you asking about the race or the recovery wine?

Do it.  It's tradition with me.  This is my 20th year in a row!  Signup early because in the last few years they have run out of applications on race day.

I would love to do the Turkey Trot but would like to ride down with someone!  I feel that it is too festive of an event to do alone!

Let me know if any of you want to get together.  I live in Fair Haven and could meet up somewhere in the suburbs!  I would even wear a costume! But don't know what to be!

I'll have to go check out the registration web site...
