Subject: Logging Swim Time

I have searched through the forums and can not find the answer to my question. I don't understand how to log my swim time. I am new to the forum and this is my "off' time. I have not been doing much drill work. I have been swimming for 30 minutes. I do not keep track of my laps. I do know how long it takes me to swim 25 meters.

Can anyone explain to me how to log my swim time? Or send me to an article. I read them all, but I didn't see a specific one on how to log time.

Hi Tracy, welcome to BT.

There's no "correct" way to track swim time, it's really dependent on how detailed you want to be and what you find meaningful.

I log the total time I'm in the pool and the total distance I swam. Some people use a watch or lap timer and log the time they're actually swimming and distance.  As long as you're consistent  in the way to log it, you'll get useful information to work with.

Ok, quick question...if i know how long it takes me to swim 25 meters and I swim for 25 minutes. Is there anyway for it to calculate the distance? I can do it myself on a calculator, but can the logger do it for me?

Figure out your pace based on per 100 yards or meters.

Then input your swim time into the workout logger. Then make an estimate of how many yards/meters you swam. Be sure that the right drop down is selected for pace. Hit the calc button. Look at the pace it gives. Change the distance and hit calc until you get the pace you know you can swim.
