Hey, Jo! I will be devoting some time during the holidays to select the events for 2009. The Hawk Island is a good warm-up one that I will definitely do (plus, it offers the chance to hang out with the likes of Trixi who live closer to Lansing). This will be my second season, so I have set some performance goals that I am looking to reach - with Olys being a stretch-goal for the latter portion of the season.

Will let you know when I have my calendar figured out. Will also keep an eye on the postings here to see where we may have a good quorum of BTers participating - those are sure to be rockin' events.

From the West side of the State, here is my tentative plan (not 100% sure of dates for most of these races):

6/20 - Johan's - Hopkins, MI - OLY - definite

7/19 - Interlochen - Interlochen, MI - OLY

7/26 (?) - Tri Del Sol - Middleville, MI - Sprint - definite

8/9 (?) - Lansing Legislator - Lansing, MI - OLY

8/17 (?) - Escape to Crystal Lake, Beulah, MI - Sprint - definite

8/31 (?) - Prairie View - Vicksburg, MI - OLY

9/12 - Tawas Half IM (????????) - Tawas, MI

Nothing too much firm for me in 09 yet.  Here is the plan as it stands now, foggy though it may be.

  • 1 or 2 Xterra races (new ground for me)
  • Interlochen Oly in July
  • Port Huron Blue Water sprint - I love this race!
  • 1 HIM - maybe Steelhead again, maybe another I'll be deciding by Feb 1st.
  • 1 or 2 other Oly's to fill in the blanks.

 I actually have been building base for my 2009 season.   I am going long(er) in 2009 - HIM is the A-race, and another Marathon on tap.
