so i signed up for this race, was wondering if anyone else who has signed up has received any additional info, e-mails, notes, etc...? Also i hear the reason why they are doing the later start at 2 is cause they event volunteers cant start setting up the course til 1 a.m race morning cause there is some big party thing going on downtown or something...just thought that was kinda interesting....we'll see how it goes i guess.

Well, I did the geeky thing and tried to roughly follow the map on the website and then clicked away on www.mapmyride.com and this is what I came up with:

http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/id/boise/773981590723

You can hit "show elevation" to get an idea of the climbs.

Awesome! Lots of BT coming to this one.

I'm finally training and doing more (on a regular basis) than I even have. I'm getting excited!

I'm starting to get more excited about this to. Especially after it was pointed out to me that it is a little closer than I thought!

Yeah 3.5 months. Crazy crazy.

Anyone else hear about the IM coming to Saint George UT in 2009? Sounds like a plan for me. HIM Boise 70.3 this year, IMUT next year!

Hmm, that's weird.  Maybe just go to THIS link and click on Official Event Schedule in the left hand column?

A little nerve-wracking that we can't check T2 stuff in until race morning, making for what might be a scramble from checking in there to getting out to the race site to prep for the race.

Pre-race fueling, taking care of pottying as necessary, setting up transition, obsessing over transition, pottying more, fueling more, warming up, applying sunblock, applying anti-chafing products as necessary, getting in wetsuit, warming up some more.

Even at 20 minutes, it just seems tight to me if stuff gets checked in until noon and then the race starts at 2. And I assume the 20 minutes is assuming no traffic or parking delays.

Is it just me being impatient, or is the lack of information this close to the race pretty bad considering it cost $250?

I was a volunteer last year and believe me, they were scary unorganized right up until the morning of the race.  But everything came together nicely at the end.   Hopefully year 2 will better.

Yeah, I hear that, but I just sort read all the stuff from last year and adjusted the times, given the 2:00 start.

I'm *trying* my darndest not to stress.  This is a finish without dying first time effort for me.  I did my first 10+ miler run yesterday so feeling like I might actually pull this off
