For what it's worth I am lined up for the New Roads Tri.  I am hitting the pool 3-4 times a week working with a swim coach with the hopes I will be up to it (800m).  If not I am going to do the Rookie Tri the following weekend.  The run is not problem and the biking may be slow with my MTB but the distance doesn't worry me.

Since the Tri's later in the year probably won't need a suit, I am going to rent the first time.  $72 but I can use if for a few weeks.  I am going to head up to False river around April 1 to do some OWS practice if anyone wants to meet (and needs a swim partner).

seems like my Promotion suit only cost about 120-140.

Hey I've done that Gator #1 before and remember wearing a wetsuit.   The good thing is that your swim with the current or at least my time indicated such.  You guys need to sign up for the Warhawk Tri at ULM (my old college), the swim is indoors and short, early in the season March 13th.....    Let me know when ride or run I live in P'ville...

The luoisiana tri in April will be my 1st and I was wondering if any one knows of a place where I can get a pair of tri-shorts and/or a wetsuit. I'm not a big fan of ordering off the net.

Dependig on where you live, but if you are in the Lafayette area try Tri Running or Precision Bikes. Both places are fantastic and will answer any questions that you have.

If you are in BR there is a swim/tri shop on Essen lane (can't remember the name but can track it down).  Did not see any wetsuits there but didn't ask.

It's online, but it's not buying. Try www.wetsuitrentals.com .

Is anyone else doing the Louisiana Tri in New Roads and NOT wearing a wetsuit?  I wasn't planning on it, but I saw water temps were in the high 50's to low 60's.  That may be a little chilly.

Scratch that, the link that was sent out for the race was bad.  It was for False River in CA, not LA.
