Subject: RE: Share your 2009 Planned Races So far the only things I am registered for are the Cherry Blossom 10-Miler on April 5th, and the 2009 Marine Corps Marathon (deferred from 2008). I need to get thinking about my plan - I just joined a tri team and so our training plans are based around a certain schedule of races. We don't have to do all of them and we don't have to even do the exact races as the team. But since we are planned out to peak for certain distances at certain times, then I could pick a different race of the same distance. Tentatively, this is what I'm thinking: Late April - the new Lake Anna Tri or early May Kinetic Sprint (I think). Late May/June - probably Reston Sprint (yeah, I know but it's the same weekend as a planned Team Z sprint but I don't think I want to do the one they are doing (not sure it's even open anymore) and Reston is close and easy). I will also probably do the sprint my church tri-buddies do every year for fun, up in Cumberland, MD. It's ghetto and not USAT-sanctioned, but it's become a tradition among them and it's very hilly. July - ??? Not sure yet, besides jockstrapping for NL at IMLP. Might do 3 Sports again, since that was fun, low-key and I was like 7 minutes away from 3rd place in my AG, which could easily come off my bike time. August - probably shoot for Luray, either the Oly or the sprint (possibly the Oly depending on how my training goes - we only have to go down that one hill once!). Sept - an Oly of some kind, maybe Patriots, or one near my parents' house, so they can see me race. Oct - ??? Besides MCM... I also want to do a half-mary at some point (possibly R&R in August), and a few other smaller road races (5K-10K). |

Patriots' Half in Sept. I have a credit for, but it falls on a weekend with the kids, so it is probably out. Also will probably end up doing the Army 10-Miler in October. |

Member 150 NoVA | Subject: RE: Share your 2009 Planned Races The only one I'm actually registered for is the NJ state Oly in late July. Need to talk to the hubster about which ones he'll do and I'll do regarding the Broadlands, South Riding, maybe one of the Sport & Health ones. But my A race is definitely the NJ State Tri. Not sure if I'm up for an additional Oly or not. I've been so sick I haven't been able to train for a week, so I'm not off to a good start this year, sadly. Mike, are Brian's races open for registration yet? |

Doing the Hagerstown Du's but not the sprint? The sprint is a fun race, lol cheaper than any of the setup events and puts on a better race IMO (better schwag and better post race food) |

The sprint is a fun race, lol cheaper than any of the setup events and puts on a better race IMO (better schwag and better post race food) For me, a spring or fall duathlon is a way to ease into/out of the triathlon season. I've done a pool triathlon the last two summers and don't really want to do another. Besides, how much time can a person spend in Hagerstown? Edited by MDHillSlug 2009-01-07 10:45 AM |

At least for their pool swim you get your own 1/2 lane and don't have to deal with snake swim. Hope he doesn't change that. |
