Subject: Wheels for my new S1?

Folks,

I just picked up my 09 Cervelo S1 and am contemplating a different wheel set out of the chute. The stock wheels are Shimano R500 clinchers.

I originally thought I would ride these wheels then upgrade when required. Now I am thinking of swapping them at the shop where I bought the bike and paying the delta. I think they are 20 spoke front and a 24 spoke rear. What do you think the trade in value should be? They are brand new never ridden (except for the fitting). I am thinking of replacing with Easton Circuits.

R500's are relatively inexpensive.  I would not expect the shop to give you more than $100 or so for trade in if they even did that much.

Mavics

The Mavics are lighter than my Zipp 303 clinchers. Not by much, but lighter...
