it was something when you store your profile,, age, height, and activity level,, the directions said it you worked out 5-6 hrs a week to select the athletic one, so of course I did... I've since changed it back to non athletic and it's pretty close to the calibers.

How are you guys getting your %BF measurements? I've seen some "home" scales that provide this and been curious about them, but have never used one. I was looking at one the other day at Costco that gave readings for %BF and water. Are they accurate/worthwhile?

I bought one of those scales (Tanita) a few years ago and it's a giant piece of crap.  I can literally get on the scale, get a bodyfat % reading, get off the scale, immediately get back on the scale, and get an entirely different reading.  So, unless my body gains/loses bodyfat within seconds, it's the most inaccurate thing I've ever bought.

These days I use bodyfat calipers to check my percentage.  I "pinch" the skin in three locations, and it gives me a digital bodyfat % reading.  I do it three times and average the readings if there is any discrepancy.

What type of calipers do you have?  They sound pretty nice.  I use a Biodynamics BIA.

It's called FatTracker.  I can't remember if I purchased it locally or online.

I see I am not updated on the list, 214.2 and 18.1%BF

Really need a jumpstart on this. Spring is just around the corner and there is work to be done.

maura9900 - 2009-03-03 12:43 PM Those scales are a load of crap. My Tanita says I have 29% body fat. That would put me in the high range and just 1% from obese. I'm 5' 4.5" and 137lbs and a size 6 right now.

Tanita scales are tricky. Mine has settings for level of activity. If I put seditary I show up as overly obese but if I put very active suddenly I drop 20% of BF and move into the moderate range.

I think you've got last week's date on the table. Shouldn't it be today (3/16)?
