Not lame at all. That is totally cool if you want to come and watch. But, if I were you, I'd bring along my gear....just in case you change your mind last minute and want to get in on the action. I wore a sleeveless one and was ok. Another thing I'd recommend is a swim cap - You're going to want to conserve as much body heat as possible and you lose a lot through the scalp. |

If everyone wants to bring a dish, that'd be fine. I'll have a bunch of hot dogs and hamburgers and of course beer. I've also got a bunch of paper plates from Costco yesterday. If there's something else you'd like to grill feel free to bring it. If someone could bring buns and condiments that'd be great. |

Did anyone decide if there was going to be a lil clinic for us new peeps? And was there a final decision on what time everything is happening at? |

Master 1920 Ann Arbor, MI | Subject: RE: Let's make a triathlon. I think the official start time will be at 10am, and it would be AWESOME to go off en masse, to get the real 'feel' for a swim start Yeats and I plan to arrive early, say 9ish, and since my proposal for school is coming along nicely, I would be happy to help run a transition clinic before the festivities begin. One caveat- I have notoriously looong transition times But, I've been doing this long enough that I have some street cred, I suppose. For those that are coming to watch, I strongly encourage you to bring your gear!! This is an extremely laid back group, with all ranges of talents, and all of whom are coming out to have a good time with friends. I can almost promise that you will never have a better opportunity to participate in a free triathlon with so many fun people, in a stress-free environment, so although it's totally cool to watch, what better way to learn than to TRI! hehe, ok, i'm done punning....back to writing my grant. See you all on Sunday! |

Double bag yourself on the swim caps. It makes a huge difference. |

I've finally convinced my wife to join us on Sunday. She will watch us race, and were planning on heading over to Coop's afterwords.I have not yet met any of you, but you all seem like great people. If it turns out that I am a horrible judge of character and you are all a bunch of jerks, please fake it on Sunday! I need all the help I can get convincing my wife (Jen) that my new addiction is a good one. I think she is almost convinced, I just need her to see that there are other addicts out there, and that they can pass themselves off as normal people when necessary. I'm really looking forward to this (except the water temp. You could have lied Coop), and I can't wait to meet everyone. Here is a picture in case you want to say something to her. (She is the one on the left) Jen Here are two samples of what you could say to her: 1. You must be Jen. I've heard so much about you. I think it is great how supportive you are of Brad's triathlon hobby. 2. Wow, your even more beautiful than Brad described. Edited by sigepbrad 2009-05-14 9:17 PM |
