Subject: RE: PRK how long till.... Of course you will want to ask your surgeon because there are different guidelines they may follow, but I believe it is usually one month before swimming to avoid risk of infection. That is of course if your corneas have completely healed by then. This will be checked at your one month check up and then just ask the doc if you are okay to swim (with goggles ) Most patients are just fine at that point, but we have them wait 3 months before any contact sports (like open water swimming in a group start ) or surfing.
