Subject: Former World Champions
I thought I heard Bob Babbit comment that every Man and Woman who wins the world championship has a lifetime pass to Kona. Does anybody know if this is true? I don't know who would have the balls tell Scott, Allen or Fraser that they need to qualify for that year to race at Kona.

Yes, if you win the overall, you have a "free pass" to enter whenever you want.

life entry though is only for pros.  If you cross first you do not get to do Kona for life.  I wonder how many former world champs that are retired take them up on the offer.
