I really want to know because I just ordered one online and I live in an apartment.  I know some you also own one and are apartment dwellers, so I thought I should ask.

I have one and live in an apt. It's kinda loud and I add to it by turning my music or the tv up really loud while I ride so I can hear it. The neighbors probably get pissed but they have yet to say anything.

Mine is REALLY loud for the first ~5 minutes until it warms up. I think this is dependent on the season though, my trainer is in the basement and it gets pretty cold down there. After that, though, it really isn't that bad. Although I don't live in an apartment, I wouldn't think it would be a problem for your neighbors, assuming you are riding it at a decent hour.

We wouldn't be training at funky hours.  I think it will help that the gentleman who lives below us is half deafand the room that we are putting it in is over his storage room.

Mine makes enough noise that I have to turn the TV volume up a bit, and it gets louder with resistance, but I don't think someone would be able to hear it through apartment walls??  And I have a super cheap fluid trainer from Nashbar!

Thanks everyone.  I'm going to be sure to place it on a rug or something to reduce the volume downstairs.  Again, he's half deaf and is never in the room under where we are going to put the trainer.
