Subject: 2xu Compression Tights

Does anyone have a pair? I need a new pair of running tights. I am wondering if they are worth the extra $? Are they cold in colder temps, like 40s-50s?

I've got a pair. The jury is still out with me whether they are worth it or not. My Nike running tights are warmer. The 2XU will keep you warmer than nothing and I think 40-50 would be fine, I wore mine several times in the low 30s. Much colder than that and they don't work real well. The salesman said they are most effective for recovery and not so much as performance. My wife calls them my "manty hose!"

I agree they are more for recovery then warmth as their claim to fame. I have a pair of shorts I train in and can not really tell the difference.

I've found IP makes one hell of a nice set of tights to run in. No pad and with the thermafleece they are good down near 30. I'm probably going to end up with more sets of those before I even try another brand.

I've been in the market for a pair of compression tights, too...and based on my own research, I think I'm going to go with either the CW-X Pro Tight or the CW-X Stabilyx tight. Both are about the same price at backcountry.com, and I love the fact that both of these tights offer substantial lower back, hip, and abdominal support.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I have to admit. I really liked the look of the 2xu the best, but after looking at the link Linda posted those are exactly what I am looking for!!!

Tracy...I just realized that the link from Paragon is showing the "Insulator Expert" tight...which has slightly different support than the Stabilyx Tight. I need the lower back, hip, and abdominal support found in the Stabilyx tight. The Expert tight specifically targets the knees & calves. Still though...nice to have another online option to purchase from.

I love my CW-X running tights. I have both insulated and regular ones.

I do have compression tights not 2XU and they are much less supportive and I don't like running in them at all. I only wear them post long runs.

Ok, I was at Sheels sporting goods today and picked up a set of the CW-X compression tights. They feel really, really nice. It still a tad cold for me to get outside in them, but I am anticipating by the end of March I will be out there!!!

I got the ones that support the hips, knees and ankles. I have a hip flexor issue with my right hip. I did not see a name the tag and tossed it. Sorry.

Completed my first outdoor run in the tights. 8 miles. I think they helped a lot. I should be somewhat sore considering I have not run outside since last fall. I feel great. A little hip pain, but I always have that.

I think I want a second pair now!!!

I've been wearing the CW-X tights for about 4 years now, and can't say enough good things about them. Great for long runs, recovery, etc.

I have one (recovery tight) and it's worth the price. I recover much faster from my long bike sessions.
I also bought the socks but strangely enough I don't feel better. Pay attention to the size.

This past winter I wore the CW-X Pro shorts under my Under Armour long tights. They were a life saver. I have had some hip problems and these really were my salvation. They keep you warm and keep the blood flowing in all of the right places. I can't recommend them enough.
