Pre-race routine:

Got up at 3:15 for some reason. Had some peanut butter and honey on toast.
I must have had to pee about 15 times before the race from when I got up. We arrived early and talked to some friends.

Comments:

Got in the water and warmed up the wetsuit, if you know what I mean. Then put my head down and warmed up in the direction of the start. I look up and everyone has gone, I missed the start and I was no where near the start line.
It turned out to be good it kept me calm. I started at a good pace and just kept it. I could have gone faster but I wanted to pace well.
What would you do differently?:

Went out easy on the bike using Gordo's tips. Heart rate settled and I started eating.
Damn those hills and wind were bad.

Comments:

Legs felt really good on the run, which was surprising. I lost my salt tablets on the bike so I started to cramp a little on the second loop. So I was trying to consume whatever I thought would help.

All in all, I would say you had a pretty good race. How many 1/2 IM's have you done, Mike? Seems like a solid race with some pretty solid times. Hope mine look that good in July when I race my first 1/2 IM. Good luck with your upcoming races.
