Weather is not looking good. 80% chance of storms and rain overnight, a lesser chance in the early AM hours, but then 80% chance again from 8 a.m. Sunday and on. Just when we're all on the bike. Grrr.

I don't mind racing in the rain, but after IMLP, I needed to replace the chain and cassette as they were too rusted to salvage; also, my powertap hub had water damage so that needed to be sent back. Not sure if this race is worth all that hassle and expense to me...Must decide soon.

Was gonna take the bike out for a quick spin right now, but it's raining here. I have a roof rack, but am hoping I can fit my bike in my car for the trip down, to at least save it a few hours of being in the rain.

Speaking of rain, what are you doing to protect your bike overnight?  I'm thinking about covering it with garbage bags or plastic sheeting.....any better ideas??

well it isn't disappointing at all if you were looking for the WORLD'S UGLIEST SHIRT!!!  last years shirts set them up with no place to go but down, but these are really bad this year.

so, whoever asked about how to keep your bike seat dry...the answer: wrap your shirt around it.  you definitely won't want to wear it

Hasn't rained at all today, just keeps looking like it is going to.  But it is windy ....... I've gotten so used to always having to ride and run into the wind this year that it is not going to be any different tomorrow. Tongue out

X2... same deal for me.  I honestly think we will be okay.  Considering I don't start swimming until like 8ish.  I figure by the time I'm out on the main part of the course it will alright.  Just really humid.  Not like we haven't had that before.

The tri-gods are smiling; I hope the rain is kept at bay for the next 24 hours!

My goals are:
Swim: Perfect: sub 25 minutes More likely: 25-27
Bike: Perfect 1:05 minutes (22 miles/hour) More likely: 1:10 (21.3 miles/hour)
Run: Perfect: sub 37 minutes More likely: 40 minutes
We shall see how I do. More importantly though I want to have fun rain or shine and enjoy myself. Good luck everyone!

The course is 41k, so a 1:05 is actually averaging 23.5 ........... I did a 1:05:XX last year as a reference.

To everyone doing this race tomorrow.... kick some a$$!!

I'd appreciate it if at some point on the run, as you are going up a hill, you curse it for me... since I had to WD there will be a few hundred less expletives uttered on the run course, and I need you guys to pick up the slack.

Best of luck to all, and have fun out there.

At least the rain stopped.  Here's to wishing you all reach whatever goals you have for yourselves.

My goal:

Swim: N/A

Bike: Ride strong, don't crash... and if I can do that in 1:15, that would be great!

Run: N/A

Great race report, thanks for the quickness!  Good job!

I am feeling pretty good.  I didn't really push myself to suffering too much.  A bit disappointed with the bike and that I am not willing to slam the downhills, especially in the rain.  Ended up with a 2:40 which is a 16 minute PR from my previous Columbia Tri, can't complain about that.  I think I PRed in all 5 diciplines.
