Subject: hip labral tear

Hi:

I have a hip labral tear - just diagnosed yesterday after MRI.  My doctor said not to worry about it though - that it is a very common injury amongst female athletes and just to proceed as normal.  It doesn't really hurt except after running more than 5 miles - and not all of the time. Just sometimes.  *shrug* He told me to stretch and do strengthening.  I am working on strengthening my hip flexor.

He also told me that the MRI showed some fat necrosis on the outside of my hip.  I have pain there too - very frequently.  But he says nothing can be done for that.  Last year, after a breast biopsy, they found fat necrosis there too (thank God it wasn't cancer!)

I am thinking that this is because of my extreme weight loss  (see website: www.wix.com/danett27/running-the-race).  Maybe I have fat 'necroting' all over the place!  Don't know.  It is very strange.

Anyone else with these issues? Just sharing.
