Seeing as its friday and I still haven't been discovered as an actor, I was wondering how others felt about their jobs.

if someone can come within 75% of my current pay rate to get me out of where I am I'll turn in my resignation tomorrow. Thankfully there is something in the works for me which would equate to a dream job for many in the sport. We'll see if it pans out.

I love my job because it's 2:20 and I haven't done anything all day. Plus my boss lets me run at lunch as long as I need to.

I hate my job, but I love my life. So while the phase "more than life itself" is accurate, it doesn't really convey how much I hate my job... so I picked the one about Celine Dion. I wouldn't only slightly rather be at work than listening to Celine Dion.

i love my job! i work in mental health and i work with a bunch of very intelligent and very twisted people (i'm talking the employees). plus, i have shared an office with my officemate, mike for three years and we play off each other beautifully. we make lots of good jokes and do a mean elton john medley.

on top of all the fun, i have a lot of really cool clients who keep me on my toes and help to validate my existence.

I chose [JOB ?] because I'm retired, BUT, when I did work, I'd have chosen LOVE IT because I basically did what I wanted, when I wanted (and having great assistants helps - don't worry, they were remunerated very well)

I don't hate my job but I hate my profession..which is worse.  I went to law school to help me with getting into high level law enforcement only to find out that my eye sight at the time kept me from getting any of the positions I wanted..so now I am still stuck with a huge student loan bill (mortgage payment) in a profession that I despise.  The only upside is that the job I have is probably one of the best I could ever get in the profession because of the firm I am in and I need to take more advantage of it..i.e. bill my hours early in the day and leave for bike rides in the afternoon.

I would say I hate it...but I am pretty zen about the whole 'job' thing.  It is just a means to an end, much like training, and the more you give it, the more it gives you.  You pick your own poison, so to speak.  My complaint, I guess, is that we live in a society that evaluates 'people', on job performance, creating so much anxiety, as well as workaholics, and people 'going postal', because they can't separate their success (or lack thereof), in the workplace, from their sense of self worth.  Then of course the Kenneth Lay's of the world rape the pension plan of their workplace creating strife for thousands of families, and are regarded as 'captains of industry'.  Would love to be able to move back to Walden's pond, but modern society doesn't allow it...so I guess after rambling incoherently, I don't hate my job...I hate the fact that we have to have jobs...

I am soooo lucky, I love my job!...
I work with a nice group of people in my department. My boss does not micro manage, he is open to new ideas. I work for a college, there is plenty young people, something different going on every week. It keeps me young. I have great benefits like 5 week vacation (paid) and 12 sick days a year. I have a pool where I can swim. Free breakfast every day. I work 9 - 5, I have summer hours 9 - 4 from june until august.... Great benefits!
Pay is lower than corporate world but if I place a $ value to the time off I have I must say it is around 20% my salary... something I always take into account when looking at other offers.
I work for IT that means that I am always learning something different and the field is connected with edutation, something that I am passionate about.
Before this job I worked for a company for 7 years and I totally hated my job. I promised myself it will never happen again.
You know what they say: Love what you do and you will never have to work a day in your life

I'm not so sure I hate my job (I'm a librarian) and I have to say I'm pretty good at it. But if I have to answer (and I quote) "Where Shakespeare at?" ONE MORE TIME my head will probably explode. If I have to bust my butt running all over the place looking for infomation on Cleopatra only to find out that they REALLY meant Nefertiti, I'm going to cry. And if I have to explain that the DaVinci Code was a work of fiction and that's why it's in the FICTION SECTION I going to throw the person out the nearest window.

Ahh....ok, I feel a little better now.

I love my job.  As a Foreign Service Officer (U.S. diplomat) I travel, get paid to learn languages, have housing and repairs paid for when I'm overseas, meet interesting people, experience foreign cultures, help American citizens, and serve my country.  The downside is increased exposure to terrorism, war, coups, medical maladies, overseas hardship posts, and misperceptions by the public that as diplomats we are all cookie-pushers in pinstripes.

I love my job, but my boss prevents me from doing it, so ...

I JUST QUIT MY JOB!!

Actually I gave notice a few weeks ago. My last day is 4/15. I'm an environmental lawyer and get to save the world and all, but it's just not worth the shit we put up with around here. I'm going back to law school teaching and private practice. I am very happy.

I really like mine. Great hours, great money and I like the people I work with and I enjoy what I do....can't say that for most jobs I've had in the past, but this one's a keeper.

It's not so much that I loathe my job, but that I detest most of the people (outside of my immediate co-workers) that I am required to deal with.  Thought I would very much like to quit, I am paid an exorbitant amount of money for what I do, plus I can schedule work around school.

I'm am looking forward to the day when I get to put in my two weeks notice and head off to grad school!  Fisheries Science, here I come!

I'm not leaving my job until they pack up my stuff in a box and show me the door (which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world -- AWESOME severance package... 2 weeks for every year of service, so I'd be looking at 20 weeks paid after they kicked me out) or I retire.  The work itself isn't exactly inspirational, but I'm pretty good at what I do and really have fun with the people I work with.  Now, if I could just convince them to pay me the same amount, but only work 5 or 6 hours a day..... hmmmm....

Here's to quitting your job! What a feeling! My last day is Friday and I'm practically giddy. My husband said to me yesterday morning, "Wow, YOU'RE in a good mood!" Looking forward to a good vacation and then going back to a firm where I've worked before and am very happy.
