Does your HR spike when you eat on the bike?  I've noticed that mine does (not a lot, but it is noticeable and predictable -- it goes back down quickly).  Is this normal, or am I working too hard to eat??

I have no idea. Are you comfortable handling the bike while you eat? Maybe it's nerves?

My HR rises when I come out of aero. Maybe body position could contribute too.

Same here and while drinking too.   My guess is you get less air till your done then back to normal.

Thanks.  That sounds plausible -- chewing etc, reduces air intake.  (It isn't nerves -- I'm perfectly comfortable.)
