Subject: BT Intermediate 1/2 IM Plan

Was browsing this the other day considering it as an option for later in the year. I was surprised at the run volume / frequency.

Weeks 5 through to 12 there is a mix of running 2, 3, or 4 times a week.

It appears the longest runs of the plan occur in the weeks when there are only 2 runs. Perhaps this is for more recovery time, or to ensure balance the overall volume? But I would have thought a consistent frequency (i.e. 3 or 4 times a week) would have better/more important to become a better and faster runner (and better recovery)

Anyone know the rationale behind this run structure?

Thanks

Gerrard

I am interested in hearing a response to your question as well. I am following this plan right now and it seems way too skimpy on everything actually. I am having a very hard time mentally thinking I am doing enough especially when this plan calls for someone going 4.5 hours.

Ya'll think this volume is "skimpy"?

Maybe I should not have used the word "skimpy"... :-)

But I do feel like I am not doing enough....especially on the run like the other poster's concern
