I'm in Germany right now for a while and need to charge up my Garmin from a wall socket.

Anyone know if it'll be good on 220V power or will it blow up? I don't have a power convertor nor a computer that I can plug a USB cable into. (sounds weird, but if you work for the DoD you know what I'm talking about)

I wouldn't risk the Garmin.  Better to do some non-timed runs than blow up your machine.  Plus, the plugs won't fit into the 220v outlets.  If you are near a hotel, see if they have an extra converter at the desk for across-the-pond-ers.

Pretty sure that would void the warranty.

Read the power supply that comes with the Garmin:

Garmin
Switching Power Supply
Model PSC03R-050
Input 110-240V ~0.2A 50-60Hz 6-9VA
Output 5V 500mA Max

It should be fine to plug into European voltage, that's 220V @ 50Hz

(edit) Yes, I've gone through Europe and found out how to read everything electronic for just such an occasion. You just need that silly plastic round thing that takes flat blades and has round posts that plug in (/edit)

I agree it will be fine - I just looked at my adapter and it says 100 - 240 v 50-60 Hz.

I lived in Germany for 10 years. I always plugged my Garmin into the wall using a plug adapter. It will be fine.

Thanks, I don't have the Garmin adapter with me but I do have another that can handle 220v, so I'm set.

The best part of all this is being able to run in the Bavarian Alps. Sure beats my regular scenery in west central Texas
