So there have been a few threads about potty issues - including enemas, runners trots....

I have a solution to all your bowel transit issues.  Passover.

Yes, matzoh and matzoh meal (turned into such things as matzoh balls, cakes, rolls), farfel stuffing....will form a barrier in your colon inpenetrable by anything behind it.  Better than any butt plug you will be guaranteed not to need a porta potty, extra TP or a private place to squat.

What's more, you can work on your swim technique as the matzoh cement weighs down your middle forcing you to work on your streamline position to prevent sinking to the bottom of the pool.

Fear that you will crap yourself on the run??? have  a little matzoh the night before.

Worried about timing of your movements before the race? have a few matzoh balls at dinner prior to your race.

Yes indeed not only will you remain poop free for the event, you might even be poop free for a week.

please note, this is NOT medical advice, simply the ramblings of a jewish girl training a day after seder.

Well, first - happy Passover,  even if it is a little late...

And, thanks for the advice.  I suddenly count myself amongst the exceptionally lucky ones that has not had egregious GI issues while running.

I will (very reluctantly) admit that part of my race morning routine is to take a Gas-X with whatever I'm having for breakfast.  Had one race where apparently I ate something I shouldn't have the night before, and kept feeling like I had to hit the porta-johns.  Nothing quite as fun as having gas bubbles smashing on your bladder making you think you REALLY have to stop (or run into the woods) multiple times during a race.

Issue hasn't cropped up again since I started that little bit of self-medicating.

Probably someone that has no clue what Seder is, or why you eat matzoh for it.

Chag Pesach Sameach

John (Not Jewish, just a Gentile with a clue...)
