While today is not my biological/chronological birthday - April 5, 2005 marks the one year anniversary of me getting off the couch and out on the road. A year of (mostly) mindful nutrition. A year of consistent workouts. A year of leaving almost 60 pounds of my former self all over the roads and sidewalks of the USA, Canada and a few Caribbean Islands.

Although I mostly train by myself, I have so many of you to thank for lots of encouragement along the way. Without you, I fear that I would have quit soon after I had started. Thanks for the encouragement and inspiration!

In Spanish, there is a word - "ganas" - it can be translated as "desire," but it's not a spur of the moment, wanton type of desire. It's more like an internal, insatiable drive. That one word has been the fire that drives me. Some days better than others mind you, but always there

Just goes to show what anyone can accomplish with a little bit of ganas and a whole lot of support. If I can do this anyone can!

-Frank

So I see everyone likes Re-Birthday? I'm new here, so I thought I just made it up!
Has that been used here before, or has Frank's totally awe inspiring accomplishments been the catalyst for my creating a totally cool new term we can use?

Thanks for the nice words everyone. Very much appreciated. As it turns out, my new neice (from my sister) started her life outside of mom today too It should be easy to remember her birthday now. Geez, what a day.

And yes Tania, I second the motion that Re-Birthday be added to the BT.com glossary!

OF COURSE it's The The. There are few songs that get me as amped up as the harmonica intro to that song, the guitar riff from "Train of Consequences" by Megadeth and the drum part from "March of the Pigs" by NIN
