Subject: Help fitting races into training plan I am using the 20 week Olympic Run focused plan to get myself ready for my first Olympic in September, but I'm having a little trouble fitting some sprint races into the schedule. I want to do one sprint at the end of week 5 and another at the end of week 14. Both are 'B' races, with the one in week 14 being more important to me. I have some friends doing that one and I have a deep need to kick their a$$es in that one.
My tentative plan is to switch weeks 4 & 5 so that my first sprint comes at the end of a recovery week. Its at the beginning of the program so I feel comfortable doing that.
The sprint in week 14 is at the program's peak volume. I have no idea what I should do here. Should I just lower the volume of week 14 or just take a few days off prior to the race?
