Subject: Indy 500 Mini-Marathon
I was wondering who all will be running in the Indianapolis 500 half-marathon on May 7th. It is a very cool race thru parts of Indianapolis and about half way thru the course you actually run 1 lap around the Indy 500 race track. This will be my first year doing it and I can't wait. There is approx 33,000 people signed up!

I wanted to do this race -- but as I found out, it fills up quickly and so I couldn't get in.   

Have fun -- sounds like a blast!!

My husband and I are both doing the half marathon. I am very excited about this race! I don't know what it will be like starting with 30,000+  people. The leaders will probably be done before we get across the start line.

long ways a way here in florida but being a huge race fan I 'd love to do that one

they had a 5k on the Daytona track this year that was pretty cool......

I am running this and some others on this site are as well.  egates656  and jlusk are both running this Saturday.  It will be my first time and I can't wait.  I figure with the live bands, 17 water/gatorade stations and 30,000+ people the adrenaline will keep me going.....at least I hope so.  Looking forward to the beer and food tents afterwards.   Good Luck all!

Well, I am as ready as I will ever be. It is going to be crazy running with that many people. I just don't want to trip and fall and and be trampled by the 3000 people right behind me
