yes, we have FINALLY made it home! I was beginning to think we would not make it. We actually left the city at 11 AM, which was much later than anticipated. When we loaded the car at 6:30 we found our window smashed and my son's camera was gone. I know, I know, how stupid of me to leave it there. And to think I paid for that lovely lot! Anyhow, after filing the police report, we were off to find a repair shop. No way could we drive home like that. First they said they'd squeeze us in, then they said they couldn't, then they squeezed us in and were done even earlier than promised. OY!

On our way home, we stopped in Sunapee NH to look at houses Yes Mike, we could be neighbors! LOL By then it has started snowing and it only got worse. Like I said, we left Montreal at 11, and just got in at midnight. I bet we saw at least 2 dozen cars off the road and were almost taken out twice by people who spun out in front of us. It was the most nerve racking drive I've had in a long time. We switched off driving every time we had to stop and scrape the ice off the wiper blades, which was frequently.

Michel, it was wonderful meeting you and your lovely wife! I hope she's feeling better by now. We're still raving about that restaurant and you would have loved the Indian restaurant we went to the next night. Oh, on top of the car/camera stuff, the PalmPilot died and we lost the pictures! When it rains it pours I guess. Mike lost all of his diabetes programs but fortunately he syncs it to his computer frequently so he was able to restore them, minus the last few days of course. Anyhow, we'll just have to do that again so we can take more pictures, and next time it will be with the new camera that I now have to buy for Matt.

Well, that's it for me, I really need some shut eye. Thanx for missing me! LOL

Ellen, I am so sorry to hear about your window being smashed and losing your camera. I am happy, however, that you and Mike got home alright. Losing that photo of me is not much of a loss; I looked like a middle aged old guy on it anyways! You get plenty of sleep now and we will communicate later.

I can't imagine having to drive all day in that weather. We went to pick up our new van last night and a 20 minute drive took about an hour. Sorry to hear about your window and your son's camera, but sounds like the rest of the trip was fun.

Tell me where you ate – I wanna see if I recognize the places from my visit!

You didn’t do the Bombay palace by any chance did you?

Michel, what was the name of the restaurant we were at on Sunday night?  I have no idea!

Monday night we ate at Le Taj, 2077 rue Stanley.  I highly recommend it

Hi guys, the restaurant we went to on Sunday is called the "Blue Nile"; it is an Ethiopean restaurant located on Blvd St-Denis. It has become a favourite restaurant of ours for when we go to Montreal; the food is just great although the service is somewhat slow which is not too bad if you are not in a hurry and simply want to enjoy a good meal and a fun night out.

Hey T-Mom,

I thought Canada was supposed to be crime-free.  Not anymore, uh.  It is too back about the car break-n but  Montreal is still a place I want to visit.

Get back into the swing of things here.  You've been missed.

Wow, I must say, it is difficult to imagine that kind of weather. Here in New Orleans, it was in the upper 70s today with sunshine. I'm glad you did not get into a serious accident. Just judging by how many accidents we have down here when it's just raining, the risk in the snow and ice must be huge! In any case, glad you're safe and are back to fill young minds with the joys of tri-ing.
