Run
Comments: I had zero energy or desire to do this race. I went hard and felt pretty quick the first mile, but died out after that. Ended up doing a walk/run combo to finish the race. Bah! What would you do differently?: Not sign up for 4 running races in a two week period. I also need to find ways to pump up and get excited. It's easy for the tri's. But for the running races, I don't know. I just don't get excited for them. Post race
Warm down: Held head in shame and quickly walked to my car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Desire to be there. Event comments: This was a fairly small (but hoping to grow bigger) race put on by a Church in Brighton in honor of a young boy that recently died of cancer. Great people...lots of volunteers throughout the course...nice tent setup with a live band playing before the race. It was a fun event and they are trying to grow it (for example, adding the 10K this year)because the money goes towards a great cause. The family of the boy that they are honoring is highly involved with running and organizing the race. I'd do it again...just with a better attitude next time! Last updated: 2009-05-05 12:00 AM

Highly debated about doing this race. I'd signed up ahead of time...but I'd run 3 races the week before and had just landed about 8 hours prior. So I was feeling pretty drained and unmotivated. But, I pulled myself together, got into my car and went anyways.
Stretched a little...yapped a bit with a lady wearing a Martian shirt.
