Well close to that this AM(regarding the pic of Al). It's still snowing and I'm debating whether or not to go to the YMCA to do my speedwork. You know, I think today might be a total rest day and I'll go tomorrow. I had a good workout week, so a day off is a day of muscle recovery and strength.

Rest day.

However the wife has to go the dentist tomorrow morning so I have the kids the rest of the day. Therefore I have to get my run tomorrow in early (may swim as well) therefore no drinking tonight on my rest day!! Must behave!

Maybe I’ll go for a swim tonight instead of putting my feet up.

Patti and I are off to the club as per usual. Had a cramp in my right calf muscle during the treadmill yesterday. I did a "simulated tri" during the workout, running for 30 minutes on the tread, then 30 minutes on the bike trainer, and back to 15 minutes on the tread again. I think I'll ease off today, some easy spinning on the bike, lift some weights, concentrating on arms and shoulders, since I don't have any swimming facilities.

Lifted weights going out of town tonight. Already found the Y's at my destination for swimming over the weekend but may do a little open water swimming since I'll be on the west coast (of FL) where the Gulf is much more calm than the Atlantic.

2700 yds today. Swam w/ the masters group in my area for the first time and had a great workout! Probably going to join. Seems like a great group to be a part of, takes some of the loneliness out of training and have already received some good pointers from the coach. And even better than that, I'm not in the slowest lane.......ok, I'm in the second slowest lane. But that's better than where I started! Have a great weekend!!

I had some serious exhaustionitis this week. I didn't train Saturday, Sunday or Monday. I trained Tuesday. Had relitives visit on Wednesday. I slept all day on Thursday. I went to the Y today. I did a half hour swim, a 45 minute spinning class. Then I ran 25 minutes on the treadmill. I was going to run for 30 minutes but I dosed off for a second and suddenly found my self behind the treadmill, ijumped right back on and started running again. When I did it the second time I decided I didn't need the extra 5 minutes training.

Dozed off on the treadmill!!!!! I wish! Well I was AGAIN, a lazy bum this morning so I slept in. Will go to the gym tonight and do 30 min run, 30 min bike and swim 800m. Big day tomorrow so I just going to go home and sleep after the workout. Have a good training day all!Ovetta

Did a work-from-home day today because of the snow. It also killed my plan to do a 6am spinning class. But, by noon, the sun had come out a bit and it turned into a nice day. So, headed over to the Y for 1000yd in the pool. Came home, did some more work and went for a 30 min easy run before the sun went down.

Funny thing is, I was just watching Married With Children while eating.

1 and 1/2 hours bike commute to and from work

20 minute easy, leisurly stroll at work.

750 yards in the pool,
weights,
walk in the woods with the dogs.

In the locker room after the swim, an older gentleman said my swimming stroke looked real good and asked if I had ever competed. He was a swimming coach for many years. Well, since I have not I felt pretty good about the compliment until he introduced me to the local legend. A guy who swims 80 laps (laps not lengths) a day. OUCH!
1 hour on the bike tomorrow.

29 min bike followed by 14 min swim, one of my easy days. Keeping pretty consitent times and HR in zone, and in swim concentrated on form.

Feel really good now, so time to go enjoy friday night!
