I will be there. Does anyone know if you can get into the parking area earlier then 10:00?

Hi all, new to begginer tri. At lake welch tomorrow, do people typically bring their wetsuits? Do you have a set place to meet? Thanks!

Newbie here going this morning.  I plan to get there around 9am in order to get in right when the beach opens.  Hoping a buddy from work shows up because after I swim a bit plan on doing a bike and a run.  Nothing too fast mostly going for fun, technique, and mileage.

I'll have a red honda mini van.

Can someone give me the details about swimming at Lake Welch. How much is it to get on the beach, how about parking fees? Also is there a designated OWS area like Lake Placid or is it a free for all? DO you have to let the guards know before hand like at long beach or do you just meet up and swim. I ride there all the time but Ive never swam there. Also, Im meet ing up with a group on Sunday July, 19 if everything goes as planned to get a short training tri in before the NYC Tri if anyone is interested.

The parking fee is $7.00 and that gets you onto the beach too. I just went last Sunday for the first time and only one swimming section was open but after 11 I heard they opened more. I just swam in the regular swim area, I didn't try to go beyond so I didn't ask the guards anything but how long the sections were.

Swam Welch this morning, no crowds and they had 2 chairs open so we had 100+ yards per length. Had a great swim!

Can't make it this Sunday going up to Lake Placid but I was thinking of going Saturday at 9:00 when they open. I need to try a new wetsuit before NYCTri next week.
