Just shaking off the last effects of a cold, nose, chest , nothing major. I intend to restart training on Monday but only doing half of what I should do and then the week after that going full blast again. Any comments?

Hey,

Check it out, here is some practical advice.

https://secure.ausport.gov.au/sports_coach/program_management2/how_to_manage_the_return_to_training_after_illness

Personally, for me a general rule of thumb, if it is above the neck, take a day off, bellow then neck- take three.  Return to activity at a lower volume and intensity for a couple of days and monitor your heart rate.  if you estastablish a morning heart rate you can watch for changes which may reflect illness.
