Pre-race routine:

OK...so in all honesty...I had a party Friday night and spent all of Saturday hung over...this was not a good pre race routine..I could finally eat and drink Sunday morning
Event warmup:

Laps in the diving well
Swim
  • 10m 33s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 07s / 100 yards
Comments:

So the elastic in my swim bottoms broke during the swim. I kept having to grab the bottoms to keep them from falling...aughhh! I was really embarrased but finished...
What would you do differently?:

Wear my tri shorts - even in the pool
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

The don't give us splits for this race. But I had a good transition. I threw my clothes on over my swimsuit and was off.
What would you do differently?:

Want to learn to get into my shoes on my bike yet
Bike
  • 57m
  • 13.7 miles
  • 14.42 mile/hr
Comments:

It was very windy on the bike course. I averaged 12.1 going into the wind and 23+ with it at my back.It even felt as if my bike could blow out from under me at points!
What would you do differently?:

More training on riding in the wind - adverse conditions
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Again to T2 time but I had a good transition. (I remebered to get off my bike this year!)threw on my tennis shoes and was off.
Run
  • 35m 38s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 11m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

The run went really well. I had a problem I have never had before which was that my butt was really sore. I am not sure why. I stopped to walk just a little and it helped. I was pumped when I realized I was going to beat my time from last year by quite a bit.
What would you do differently?:

More bricks - I didn't do any before this race
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, stretched

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My Friday night party and Saturday recovery left me very dehydrated. And the unusual problem with my swim bottoms

Event comments:

This was a great race again this year. There are lots of volunteers but the waves always run behind...I was in the last wave and we started almost on hour late.
