Running "slow" which should mean comfortable, makes it a whole lot easier to increase your long runs, and or total volume for the week.  I've done a few road races and usually finish in the top ~1/3 overall on basically just volume and no speedwork.  Some of the distance increases were rather agressive, but I was only truly sore once or twice.

I'm definitely battling soreness during runs, right in the knee joints.  I think I need to not only slow down, but shorten them, and then gradually work up to longer distances.  Hope I haven't done any serious damage.  Frown
