Age Group Rank = 8594/15536
Pre-race routine:

Had to walk almost 2 miles to the start so plenty of warming up. The traffic to the drop off point was just awful! So I walked most of the way.
Event warmup:

See above. When I handed in my gear at the gear check I made my way to my corral. I was passing the start of it when I saw Leslie in Corral #11 so I just joined her.
Run

Comments:

I love crowds and I think this made me run more. As slow as it was I ran and I felt very comfortable with my stride and especially my breathing. I walked a ALL water stations and hills. I tired to do 10:2 but that didn't work so instead I walked .25 mile and ran the rest, except when I came to the stations and hills etc. I also stopped for the loo and for more vaseline at a med station.

I felt fine till around mile 9-10. Then my hips reallllllly started to hurt!!!! @mile 12 my left knee gave way.
What would you do differently?:

Run longer distances, practice hills and YOGA! Lots and lots and lots of yoga and strength training!
Post race
Warm down:

I hot the medic tent as soon as I crossed the finished line as my hands and arms were tingling! They made me lay down, lifted my legs and gave me salt and some ice for my knee. I walked to get the bus then walked around downtown for 20 minutes before heading home. Oh and I grabbed a latte

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Smoking. Not enough training. No yoga, stretching or strength. All of these would make me a better runner!

Event comments:

I know! I know! I have never complained SO much about a race. I know that. I had other stuff going down, I was stressed and took it out on poor rock n roll! I apologize RnR! You really were a fantastic race to run! I have never taken part in such a big event with so many people and a HUGE crowd to boot! I am definitely doing this next year!!!!!!!!

You Smoke!!!!  Good job on finishing.  I think alot of the locals that ran weren't use to that much sunshine and warm air.

Way to hang tough when the knee gave out!

Big races are hard to find your way in but have so much energy that it makes the crowd fighting worth while.
