Right now I'm running a 10 spd bar end shifter on a 9 speed deraileur.  It works well but isn't ideal.  I'll buy yours, or trade my 10-sp shifter for your 9-speed.

I have a bike in which the STI shifter needs replacement.  9 speed also.  Let me know if you want to sell me yours.  Cheap is more important the quality.

Is it the indexing that is causing issues?  If so, I have a very cheap solution - run it in friction mode

If you have to have indexing, I would suggest that instead of getting 9-spd shifters, you get a 10-spd chain and cassette and run the 10-spd setup.

I have 10 spd bar end shifters on a 9 spd system (long story....).  It works surprisingly well, even in index mode, but not perfect.   I'll look into the 10 spd system also, though I suspect a much more expensive solution.

I have a set of used DA 9-spd bar-end shifters that I can sell for $25 shipped to CONUS.

They functionally work as if they were new but there are two minor/cosmetic issues;

(1) the right/rear shifter rattles a bit.  It's just the black plastic ring.  I used tape to keep it from rattling but have also heard you can put  drop or two of superglue underneath it.

(2) I took a spill on the bike a few years back and the rubber piece on the end of the shifter is chewed up a bit.

If you want some pics, PM me and I can post some tonight.

Thanks,

-Tim
